Darcy and David's wedding at Crear showcased the best a Scottish wedding has to offer: the white sandy beaches of the West Coast, lots and lots of local blooms, moody skies, and a wild (!) Ceilidh to top it all off. David and his best men really went for it - as you'll see below - which gave me the chance to take some of my favourite dance floor photos of the season!
One of the many advantages of moving to Glasgow has been that the drive to Crear - which is nestled in a remote corner of the Mull of Kintyre - is much shorter than it used to be from Edinburgh. The view of Jura on a sunny day, the misty hills on a rainy one, the rugged coastline, the day-trip to Gigha, the wee lambs in spring, all make for an excellent weekend away for newlyweds and wedding guests alike. So much so that I try to make a trip of it whenever I have the pleasure of returning to Crear!
Hot, if not unsolicited, Tip: If you're into oysters, grab some garlic and thyme-crusted grilled ones at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. Makes for a good pit-stop en route to Crear. And if you're not into oysters, there's plenty else to choose from!
